About V.I.P.

V.I.P. are a funky four to nine-piece party band specialising in classic tracks from the 60s through to the present day with the emphasis on funk, soul, motown, pop and disco.  As a six-piece band the line-up features male and female singers backed by drums, bass, guitar and keyboards.  If you want live brass you can also add a sax and trumpet, and a second female vocalist can be added for the full nine-piece.  Hugely experienced, this band can be relied upon to get your guests groovin’ and movin’ to the funkiest sounds in town!

All of the band members in V.I.P. are talented professional musicians, who between them have toured throughout Europe, America, and Canada playing alongside well-known artists including Sir Paul McCartney and The Human League.  Unusually for a pop band the drummer and leader of the band is a classically trained musician who studied timpani, percussion and drum kit at The Royal Academy of Music and has performed with the Royal Philharmonic and other top orchestras in venues including the Symphony Hall in Birmingham and The Royal Festival Hall in London.

Based in the South Yorkshire, V.I.P. have established themselves as one of the top party bands in the country, playing at private parties, weddings, and at corporate events for clients including Bosch, Dell, IBM, IKEA, Pernod Ricard, Price Waterhouse, Royal Mail, RSPCC, Sony, Tesco and Virgin Atlantic.

V.I.P. have their own PA system and lighting rig and normally play two one-hour or three 40-minute sets.  V.I.P. include a full laptop-based DJ service so that your guests are kept fully entertained when the band is not performing live. They have a huge number of popular songs and they mix them like a traditional DJ. They will make basic announcements, and take requests from guests on the night. You can even let them know in advance if you have any favourite songs and they will make up a playlist specially for your event.  For an extra charge the band can also provide a live jazz trio or quartet to play during a drinks reception and meal.

"We just wanted to say a big thank you because the band were fantastic. The set list they played was ideal and just what we hoped for. We had so many guests from the day wanted to know where we found the band. We have had nothing but great responses from people! They got everyone dancing immediately and sounded terrific. They were professional and friendly and made our evening reception everything we hoped it would be. They are a great band and their CD does not do them justice! We also must thank you for the service we received from Function Junction. Everything was made so easy to arrange - not stressful at all, which is much needed when organising a wedding1 The whole experience was first rate. So thank you again for providing us with such a great band. We would not hesitate to recommend them or your service."
Joel & Melissa Denham - wedding - Leicestershire - September 2004

"V.I.P. provided an excellent performance for our wedding, giving an extra special something to an already fantastic day. They allowed a cousin to sing our 1st song which was very much appreciated. Due to a few hiccups with the timing of our caterers the band acted professionally and changed the timings of their sets to fit around us. Please pass on our thanks to Matthew and his band, V.I.P."
Tracey Moisey - wedding - Lincolnshire - September 2004

"The band V.I.P. performed really well and sounded excellent. The band’s performance was a great end to a perfect day. The dance floor was always full and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the music. A very nice touch was allowing one of my relations to perform a song at our wedding. V.I.P. were first class. Please accept our kindest thanxs for a most brilliant way to help celebrate our special day. The style of music and the way they performed was second to none. Their performance was thoroughly enjoyed by young and old alike, whoever they perform for in the future will not be disappointed."
