About Chocolate Charlie

Chocolate Charlie was formed in late 2003 when five of the most talented musicians on the UK scene decided to combine their passion, spirit and energy to create a truly outstanding party band.  Their intoxicating set comprises a spectrum of floor filling pop, disco, funk and rock classics.  Founder member Charlotte Hodson has been working at the highest level of the British pop industry for many years.  Together with some of the hottest talent around, she has succeeded in creating one of the tightest and most professional covers bands in the country, making them the perfect party band for weddings, parties and corporate events.  Their corporate clients include 3M, The Princes Trust, Iconic Digital and St James’ Wealth Management, all of whom have hired them again and again. They were the resident band at Lords Cricket Ground for the 2009 Ashes series.

Charlotte has performed worldwide since 1998 when she landed her first tour as a backing vocalist with Saint Etienne who she worked with for 4 years.  She went on to sing with Texas on their Greatest Hits tour and is featured on their “Texas Paris” DVD.  She worked alongside Belinda Carlisle for numerous tours, TV performances and international shows for a few years.  In 2003 – 2004 she was a lead vocalist with Brit award winners Basement Jaxx on their Kish Kash Tour.  Her vocals were featured on their 2005 single “You Don’t Know Me” with Lisa Kekaula.   Her writing skills and sultry vocals featured with Basement Jaxx’s MC Slarta John on a dance track remixed and released by DJ Roger Sanchez in 2007.  She has been singing with Altered Images since 2002 and continues to do so.  Charlotte has toured with and appeared on various singles, albums, DVDs and TV performances as a backing vocalist with countless other artists including Westlife, Dannii Minogue, Marti Pellow, Chemical Brothers, Kim Wilde, Midge Ure, Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Jewel, Sam Brown, Lesley Garrett, Lemar, Jamelia, Shayne Ward, Claire Sweeney, Betty Boo, Dinah Carroll, Chris Difford (Squeeze), Chris de Burgh, Mica Paris, China Crisis….  The list goes on.  She has worked as a session singer alongside such pop legends as as Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams) and Skin (Skunk Anansie) and has co-writes with Ricky Wilde (Kim Wilde).  A true rock chick at heart, Charlotte fronts Chocolate Charlie with a provocative attitude, vitality and true class.

Charlotte’s band comprise some of the top musicians in the country, between them having played with a huge array of artists including John Newman, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Duffy, Duran Duran, The Streets, Will Young, Mika, Nick Heyward, Purdy, Alexander O’Neal, St Etienne, Then Jericho, Corinne Bailey-Rae, Charlotte Church, Dizzee Rascal, James Brown, and many, many more!

Chocolate Charlie is bursting with  energy, excitement and attitude.  They are the must-have band at any function or party, and will leave the audience euphoric – an experience not to be missed!
