Formed in the 1980s, Jezreels Ceilidh Band features Steve Moreham on violin and vocals, Chris Taylor on melodeon, banjo and guitar, Doug Hudson on electro-acoustic guitar and vocals and Mike Peters on bass and vocals. They are the resident band for Kentish evenings at Leeds Castle in Kent where they have also played to royalty and the British Grand Prix after-race party. The band have also played in The British Embassy in Brussels and have performed at festivals in Hungary, Belgium and France.
Their powerful musical style is complimented by Doug Hudson’s individual calling style that never fails to get people dancing. Between dances the band can perform vocal numbers from a wide repertoire, so that an evening with Jezreels is a night of non-stop entertainment.
The band provide their own full PA system and will normally play for two hours over a three-and-a-half-hour period. During breaks, the band can also play CDs through their PA system if requested.
