The Love Junkies are a funky four/five-piece band playing music from Motown to Moloko. The band is fronted by Rox Clayton-Scott, an outstanding, and highly respected, female session vocalist who is featured on the jingles for the Radio One Chris Moyles Show. In the five-piece line-up she is backed by guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards. The four-piece line-up uses sequenced tracks to cover keyboard parts as well as orchestration. In either case The Love Junkies are able to deliver superbly accurate renditions of all your favourite funky hits from the last four decades. The band can also expand right up to a ten-piece line-up with a horn section, percussionist and additional vocalist being added.
The members of the band have amassed over 100 years of professional gigging experience between them! having worked with artists as diverse as Morcheeba, Roy Wood (Wizard), Chris Difford (Squeeze), Edwin Starr (War), George Williams (The Tymes), George Clinton (Parliament, Funkadelic), Greg Thomas (Funkadelic), Don Mescall (Songwriter for Ronan Keating etc.) Sheila Ferguson (The Three Degrees), Robert Wyatt (Shipbuilding) and Wishbone Ash. Two of the band members also currently play with Toyah ( I'm A Celebrity etc).
The Love Junkies have their own high quality PA and lighting system and play two one-hour or three 40-minute sets. Their price includes playing recorded compilations during their breaks, but for an additional £125 a full DJ service can be provided.
