Formed in the 1980s, Jezreels Ceilidh Band features violin, bass/vocals and leader Doug Hudson on electro-acoustic guitar and vocals. Doug also calls the dances in an inimitable style that never fails to get people dancing. They are the resident band for Kentish evenings at Leeds Castle in Kent where they have also played to royalty and the British Grand Prix after-race party. The band have also played in The British embassy in Brussels and have performed at festivals in Hungary, Belgium and France.
As well as providing the music for dancing, between dances the band can perform vocal numbers from a wide repertoire, so that an evening with Jezreels is a night of non-stop entertainment.
The band provide their own full PA system and will normally play for two hours over a three-and-a-half-hour period. During breaks, the band can also play CDs through their PA system if requested.
