About All Hands Around

This popular band, based in Hertfordshire, specialises in English tunes for English ceilidh dances and Irish tunes for instrumentals between the dances. Their repertoire also includes some Scottish and European tunes and some American square dances.

The band is made up five musicians: Alison on melodeon, concertina and whistle; Geoff on banjo; Ellie on fiddle; Simon on whistle and bodhran; and John on guitar. The band can also add a caller, who can demonstrate the dance steps and call the dances. This is great for a party or reception catering for all ages and guaranteed to get everyone on the dance floor. Our quoted price is for the five-piece band plus caller.

Testament to the high standard of musicianship and professionalism of All Hands Around are the sales (more than 3,000 copies to date) of their two CDs: ‘Country Dance Favourites for Schools’ volumes 1 and 2, which are used widely throughout the country to teach schoolchildren traditional dances.
