Online event coordination
From day one, Function Junction decided that an effective event coordination system had to be at the heart of its commitment to offering the best possible customer service. For many years we used a paper form, on which hirers could give full on-the-day details to the act, including arrangements at the venue, set times, music requests, etc. In 2008 we decided to make a significant investment to move this form over to an electronic format. This has many advantages for both hirers and acts. The forms are more comprehensive and include lots of help features. The hirer initially completes the form and then submits it to the act. They then check the form, resolve any queries and then approve the arrangements. Before the form is submitted each section is marked with a red "traffic light". Communication between hirer and act is made easy by the facility to e-mail each other direct from the form. Submitting the form for the act to view turns the traffic light to amber. When the act approve a section, the light goes to green. The online form has many advantages over the paper form including being able to carry much more comprehensive help and information. For example, hovering the mouse pointer over the question mark symbol gives context-sensitive advice about what an entry means or what information is required. .jpg)
